This equipment is the origin of the self propelled compact endoscopy system. The system comprises disposable MiniMermaid® whose fin is attached to the existing conventional capsule endoscope and magnetic field generating controller. Fixing a magnet in the fin and applying fluctuating magnetic field, the capsule swims like a fish by hydrodynamic force. This self propelled capsule endoscope (MiniMermaid®) with a fin can move freely and the velocity and direction is controlled in a digestive tract similarly to the self propelled compact capsule endoscopy system.
