Message from President |
Taking the opportunity of retirement from Faculty of Science, Ryukoku University
at the end of March, 2011, I have established MU Ltd. for realizing a system
for self propelling capsule endoscopy (SPCE).
Before the establishment, our group has started the independent research
and development on micro-machine or MEMS for medical use since about 20
years ago.
We have been collaborating with the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine,
Osaka Medical College about 8 years ago.
"MiniMermaid" is a nickname for the SPCE system.
By virtue of its ability to closely examine the gastrointestinal system,
the proposed system is expected to be capable of the early detection of
significant diseases such as cancer as well as improving treating effect.
This system is considered to be a pioneer in the independent medical mini-robots
capable of moving freely in the human body and administering various medical
treatments with little pain.

As I have experiences in wide variety of mechanical engineering and have
been engaged in development in boundary fields, I will also give technical
support to industrial companies.

The name of the company, MU represents the Greek letter μ, mu or micro,
in a word of micro-machine or MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) for
